Cross Country Ski Clinic
Saturday, February 11th 9:00 am Swiss Valley Nature Center  

Have you ever wanted to try cross country skiing...but were afraid to try?  No more waiting!  Register for this program and learn the basics from Ranger Vontalge.  Must pre-register and there is a $10 rental fee.  563.556.6745 (if no snow we will reschedule)

Adventurer Extraordinaire--Lance Andre
Sunday, February 19th 1:00 pm Swiss Valley Nature Center  

Join your friends and family for a fun program featuring the adventures of Lance Andre.  Lance has entered an elite group of ultra-endurance cyclists by finishing the coveted human powered Iditarod Ultramarathon in Alaska!  He will share his photos, trials and triumphs with the audience.  Be prepared to be inspired!  

Ice Fishing Fun
Monday, February 20th 10:00 am Mud Lake Park  

This is a non-school day!  Bring the kids to Mud Lake to learn how to fish...on ice!  We have a limited amount of equipment to loan out, please call to reserve a spot today, 563.556.6745 

Becoming an Outdoor Woman Winter Experience
Saturday, February 25th 8:00am -Noon Swiss Valley Nature Center

Ladies this program is for you!  This is an extention of the summer BOW program.  The winter BOW program will feature outdoor safety and first aid, gun cleaning and safety, tree stand safety, outdoor cooking, snowshoeing (pending snow), and indoor displays from local conservation groups.  Do not miss this opportunity to learn new skills and have fun too!  Must preregister by calling 563.556.6745  Thanks to our wonderful sponsors Pheasants Forever and Friends of DCCB. 

Bluebird Workshop

Woodcock Watch
Wednesday, March 28th 7:00 pm Whitewater Canyon  

This program focuses on the mating ritual of the American Woodcock.  We will meet at the Whitewater Canyon parking lot and learn about the birds adaptations, migration, feeding preferences and listen and look for its spectacular mating dance!    

Owl Prowl
Thursday, April 5th 7:00 pm Swiss Valley Nature Center  

This is a family night hike opportunity.  We will host a short informative program on owls and then make our way outside to call the owls and be a part of their world for part of an evening.

Natural Easter Egg Dying
Saturday, April 7th 10:00 am Swiss Valley Nature Center  

Bring your own hard boiled eggs and use our home-made natural dye to add some beautiful color to your Easter Holiday.
